was a day duck while attending A&M and lived in the College View

Carlos A. Garcia lived

was a member of B-FA. He retired from the Army in 1989 and took a DoD teaching
position overseas as two of his and wife Melinda’s three daughters and their
families were stationed in
Milton E. Powell was
not a member of the Corps at A&M. Says he is still retired.
Steve Reid was in
the Maroon Band. He coached for thirty years, mostly in high schools around the
Ft Worth area, Masonic Home, Aledo, Jacksboro, Burleson and Weatherford. Coach at TCU and the
Don R. Rummel was
a member of A-AAA. He and wife
Dr. Tom Sawyer was
a member of B-AAA until he entered
Billy D. Sevier
was a member of B-Armor his first two years and then lived in Dorm 2 (jocks),
Law and Puryear halls. He and wife Maxine have been married for 40 years and have
two sons, Marcus ’94 and Brett ’96.
Between them they have 5 grandchildren. Bill retired from NASA in 1999
after 38 years of training astronauts. He is still active in teaching.
Edward A. Wueste
was a member of A-TC. He is a widower of 2 years and has 2 sons and 4 grandchildren.
Ed had two careers at the federal and state levels as an engineer. He is
presently working part time for an engineering firm and participates in several
mission trips per year. Says he is looking forward to our 50th

Thomas C. Billingslea
was a member of “B” Field Arty his fish year and then lived in
Legget hall, Walton hall and Dorm 16 until graduation. Tom and his wife Mae
celebrated their 27th anniversary this year and Tom has two sons by
previous marriages. Tom says he has really enjoyed searching for
“lost” classmates and was able establish contact with two this past
summer and will continue to look. He was a member of AIEE, IRE and NE Texas

Gary Norris
Herrington played baseball for the Aggies, was a member of “A”
Athletics and lived in Hart Hall. He reports that Brandt, Ryan and Anna Beth
are doing fine. He retired from GCCISD. 13206 Windy
Gerald E. Ryan
was a member of PHI KAPPA PHI and lived off campus. He was the VP of the
Marketing Society and received the Faculty Achievement Award. His senior year
he received a scholarship from the Houston Sales Executive Club. He is single and has 4 daughters and 6
grandchildren. Retired as General Manager of SMURFIT- Stone Corp at the

“Smitty” Schmid was a member of Squadron 13 and worked in the
athletic training room while at A&M.
He and his wife Barbara have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. Smitty
retired a LTC from the USAF in 1981 and then retired from Blue Bell Creameries
after 26 years this past summer. His son Chris ’94 reports that Smitty
served as branch manager in Humble for the past 18 years and is better known as
the “Ice Cream Man” to family and friends. His grandchildren are all upset that he will
not have an endless supply of Blue Bell at his house (“eat all you want
and sell he rest”). Smitty and

the CO of “A” Engineers is retired and raising goats, dogs, horses
and one cat.

“Manroy” Wolpman lettered in track his fish year and was a
member of Squadrons’ 21 and 24. He
and Gracie have been married for 50 years and have 3 married daughters and 6
grandchildren. Manroy retired from his insurance agency but is keeping his real
estate office open, Dewitt Properties, 437 West
Manroy is proud of
the successes of these classmates and SQ buddies.

Robert A.
“Bob” Collins was a member of the Maroon Band. Bob and his late
wife, (deceased 1999), have two children and two grandchildren. Bob retired
from Bank of America after 30 years and enjoys his family and plays golf three
or four times a week. He says about the only traveling he does is to attend

John A. Greaner Jr.
lived in Dorm 10 his fish year and retired in 2001 as president and CEO of
Hydro Machinery Inc. They manufacture
various types of pumps. John graduated from U of H in 1967 with a BS in
Physics. He and wife Eva have been married 47 years.
Loyd Neal was a
member of C-Inf. After serving eight years as mayor of
David B Smith,
one of our lost ‘59ers until recently located by his fish old lady John
Windham. David was in C-FA, a DS and a member of the RV. He was with the
federal government for over thirty years and worked in

was a member of A Composite, Geology Club and the Brazos Valley Home Town Club
his senior year. He and wife Kathy have one son and one daughter. He is still
the state Construction Engineer for the Idaho Transportation Department.

Thomas C. Billingslea
lived in Walton hall and was a member of AIEE and IRE. Prior to retiring in
2005 Tom worked as an electrical engineer 23 years for the Lone Star Steel
Company in Lone Star, one year as a senior electric group designer for
Lockwood-Greene Engineers in
Donald L. Bullock
lived in veterans housing in College View. He retired from the Gardner Denner
Company after 35 years in their sales division as their General Sales Manager,
He and wife Shirley have two daughters and two grandsons. 4923 Barclay,
Fred L. Cole Jr.
was a member of D & B FA. He and wife Martha have 4 girls and 4
grandchildren. Fred started his own business after graduation which evolved
into a point of sale & automated time system business. He sold that
business after 46 years and is now evolved in expanding a real estate business
and teaching a class on the stock market. Says he will get back into recruiting
young people into the corps (something we all should be doing)
Jerome J Klement
was a nonreg while at A&M, He and wife Carole of 43 years have 4 children,
3 of whom are Aggies, and 12 grandchildren. Jerry retired from USDA, FmHA in
1994 after 37 years. He retired as the Director of Deacon Ministry, Catholic
Diocese of Austin in Jul 2006. 3911 Wagon Trail,
George Stephens
was a member of Squadron 9 but graduated as a member of A Quartermaster. He
retired from the Army and then from law enforcement. He is currently a part
time contract employee at

Leonard C. Benedic
was a Korean War vet that lived in College View while attending A&M. He
retired from GE in 1995 and has 3 children, 11 grandchildren and 7
great-grandchildren. He spends part of his time repairing “talking
books” for the blind.
Donald L. Bullock
is married to Shirley and they have two daughters and 2 grandsons. Don retired
from Gardner-Denver Company after 35 years as general sales manager. He was a
veteran of the US Army while attending A&M and a member of the IMD club. He
says thanks to Grady Barr for contacting him.
Harry W.
“Joe” Chandler Jr. was a member of the fish drill team,
sophomore drill team and “C” troop Armor. He has a son and three
daughters. Joe retired as a 06 Colonel from US Army Aviation and currently is
the administrator for the Orlando Urology Associates and a Professor at
Walter Morrison
Clerihew (Dec’d). Walter’s widow says that Walt passed away
last Oct due to prostate cancer resulting from contact with agent orange in

widowed in Nov 2004 and has 3 children. He retired from OSF Healthcare Systems
where he was a corporate officer in charge of the OSF Foundation. He says he
was a fund raiser all of his professional life. He was a member of C-FA and on
the Aggieland staff.

Hubert P Isaacks
was a member of AAA , 2nd Battalion Staff, the Fish Drill Team and
the Ind Ed Club. He has one daughter and two grandchildren. Hubert is currently
associated with Burns Moving and Storage in
Thomas L. Johnson Sr.
has been married to Kay for 45 years and they have Tom Jr, ’91 and
daughter Karen ’87. Tom is the Executive V.P. of Associated General

William O. Kelly
is widowed and has one son and two daughters and 7 grandchildren. One of those
is Max McClyre ’09 in Unit E-2. WO is a partner in Mech Tech Sales in

is currently single and has one daughter and one son and 5 grandchildren
between them. Bill retired from Solar Turbines. Was a member of SQ 2 until his
third year and a member of the fish drill team. Says he didn’t want to
leave the Corp but he needed to improve his grades to stay in A&M (sound
familiar).
Toby Mattox and
wife Rachel of 39 years have one daughter and one son. They have two grandchildren. Toby retired in
Dec 05 from the Society for the Performing Arts in
Robert J Reynolds
“Bob” and wife Diane have 7 children, 8 grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren. Way to go Bob and Diane! Bob retired in 2000 from Tewmseth
Products as their Engineering Manager.
Bob Singer and
wife Janet of 41 years have two sons and 6 grandchildren. He owns Brodnox
Printing Co., Varidoc LLC, and Metal Processors (import company). Bob was on
the 2nd wing staff, SCONA and 12th man football (did we
have that back then?)

Leonard Clark (Butch), was on the 4th
Grp staff his senior year. He was also on the fish drill team and the Corps
Color Guard. He and wife Katey have been married 44 years and have 4 daughters
and 8 grandchildren. Butch retired as Colonel USAF after 30 years in 1988 and
then worked (flew) for US Airways until full retirement.
Robert “Bob“ Davila, SQ 13,retired from
Exxon in 1996 and he and wife Bobbie live in San Diego. They have three sons
and two grandchildren.
Henry E. Heatherly is semi-retired Professor
Emeritus at the
Jerry Jennings, member of SQ 7 as a fish then a day
duck in SQs 19 & 21. Married to Murlene for 48 years and they have two
sons. He retired August 4, 2004 s National Director of Employee Relations for
the Boy Scouts of America. He started a HR consulting firm in 2005. 7710 Alto

William E. (Buddy) Keeling was a member of A and B
Ordnance while in school. He retired after 25 years with the Pershing Project,
office of the U.S. Army Missile Command. He also spent 10 years with the
Strategic Air Defense Command as an electronic engineer. Buddy reports his
first wife passed away in 1993 and he remarried in ’94. Between the two
families they have 5 children and 12 grandchildren.
Delma L. Osborne “D.L.” and wife Dorothy have a son and 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren. DL is retired after being self-employed in the horse business. He was a breeder of foundation quarter horses specializing in cutting and cow horse bloodlines. Dick Richardson a non-reg in school is married to
Pat and they have two daughters and a son and two granddaughters. Dick is a
professor of biology at tu. 1 University Station, MS A6700,
Richard A. Smith, SQ 22, was a member of the swim
team and aggie talent show. He and wife Norma have been married for 47 years
and have 3 daughters and nine grandchildren. Richard is the chairman & CEO
of Coldwell Banker United Realtors in Bryan/College Station. He would like to

Jim Ballow was a member of SQ13. He owned and
operated a chain of 13 convenient stores and is now a retired rancher in
central
Jay B. Bisbey started in AAA and wound up the Regt
Cmdr his senior year. He and wife Joanne have been married 45 years and have
two children and 4 grandchildren. Jay spend 20 years in US Army Aviation,
retired and then spent 25 years in the Aerospace industry, retiring as a
program manager for international business development. Currently, Jay spends
his time working on his golf handicap and playing with his grandchildren. He is

Marcus Rex Hudgins was a member of SQ 9, and Group
Staff. He retired from Shell Oil in ’92 after 30 yrs and is now owner of
the Star Ranch in
Ross F. Hutchison member of B-FA retired in ’03
and reentered job market ’05 for Best Exterior Designs. Widowed in August
2004 he and Janette have 16 grandchildren and one great grand child.
William J. Jonas Jr. member C-EN is retired from the
William E. Keeling, A-Ord and B-Ord, retired from US
Army Strategic Defense Command as an Engineer in ’95. He and wife Jean
have a daughter and two sons.

Inc, software development and support.
Loyd Neal member of C-Inf is currently the Mayor of Corpus
Christi. He is also the chairman of HIRH insurance, He and wife Thetis Ann have

staff senior year. He and wife Helga of 44 years have 2 daughters. Retired from
US Army in ’89 and then the defense industry in’98. Says he spends
his time now working on becoming a brain surgeon and professional golfer. They
miss being around Aggies.
Kenneth W. Sutton, SQ 12, and wife Claudette have a
daughter and son Kurt ’87 and 4 grandchildren. Ken is semi retired from
the sawmill business and does some ranching in south
Jon Swail, A-Sig, married to Judy for 37 years and
have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Jon is still working full time in space
satellite electronics and says he plans to reduce to partime in ’08.
William Leo Yates retired as associate professor,
cooperative extension family life education specialist, New Mexico State U
after 24 years cumulative USDA and military service. He and wife Patsy Anne
Reynolds have two sons, Major Walter Yates, USMC ’90 and Major Kevin

L. David Black a member of SQ 18, married Marilyn and
they have two daughters, Katherine Joyce and Beth Black. They have three
grandsons and a granddaughter. David retired Chairman, President and CEO of JLG
Industries in
J. Ward Boyce, 2nd Gp Staff, married Mary
in 1961 and they had two daughters, Beverly and Elizabeth. They have 4
grandchildren. Ward retired from the USAF in 1988 and from Exec. Dir. American
Fighter Aces Association in 2001. He is currently serving as governor of the
Austin Quiet Birdmen Hangar and VP of Austin chapter of Military Vehicle

Ken Cox, 2nd Regimental Staff, yell
leader, trainer on football team fish year. Married to Gayle for 37 yrs, have

Jack J. Estes was sec-treas of AIIE chap and served
on Student Council. Retired from A.O. Smith Water Products as Exec VP. Comes to
Charles W. Heald, AAA, married to Dorothy who retired
from Texas Bank. They have two children, Debra Johnson ’84 and Darrell
’86 and four grandchildren. Wes retired as Exec Director of the Texas Dept.
of Transportation on Sept 1, 2001 after 40 yrs of service and also retired as
LTC from US Army Reserves. They reside at 806 Hillcrest,

married an Aggie. The other two are married to Air Force fighter pilots. Carlos

Jerry C. McDaniel, SQ 4 (2 yrs), married to Carla Jo
(Bush), one daughter. Spent 3 years in the US Navy and then as a soil scientist
with the Soil Conservation Service for 32 yrs. He is retired and lives at

grandchildren. John retired as an airport manager in Apr ’02 and most of his
time is spent with a few community volunteer projects and teaching grandkids to

Rudy says he is almost completely retired from his real estate business and he and Jennie are in their 13th year of traveling in their RV.

Carr B. Thomson, A Signal, married to Patricia
Callahan for 43 years, children are Kathy Thomson Garber ’85, Dani

have 9 grandchildren. Ben has been with the Texas General Land Office for the
past 17 years. They live at

J.L. Taylor- JL was a member of A composite and studied FA for bull text. He and wife Barbara live in Bryan TX and have two sons both Aggie graduates and 4 grandchildren. JL retired from FMC Corp in 2000 and currently consults for COHON to AGMI LLC. He is also the new product chaperone for cotton managers.
Del Deterling- For 36 years, his byline graced the
pages of Progressive Farmer now he is retired. He has vowed to continue to
write some articles and attend meetings for PF. At his retirement upper
management said, “
Carlos A. Garcia- worked 41 yrs for the Venezuelan
oil industry. Retired as director of Corpoven
Raul Villaronga- Raul retired from the US Army as a
Colonel in 1985. After serving one term as a Killeen City Council member, three
terms as Mayor of Killeen and four years as Associate Municipal Judge in Killen
he “retired” again, leaving only real estate dabbling as an
occupation/hobby. The Villaronga’s have two grandson’s, one a
marine and the other a junior at Westchester U in PA. Raul says come visit them
in
Joe Norman Mullen- Retired from Tenneco Oil
Exploration and Production in 1986. He and Lilly were married March 21, 1953
and he wants to know if they have been married the longest period in our class.

member of the Fish Drill Team. He was widowed in June of 2001 and currently

furniture store for 26 years, sold it and is now a consultant to the buyers. He

Len H. Layne-Served on the First Battalion staff his
senior year and was a member of “A” Infantry. He and wife Dorothy
have two sons Eric ’90 and Mike ’92. They reside at 7112 Montana

George Wendell Bryant- He and wife have been married
45 years and have two children and 4 grandchildren. He was a member of “B” Engineers. He retired from
faculty at Texas A&M Commerce in 1999 and Green Villa: a residential
treatment center in 2003. They live at
Kirby Cunningham-Served on the Corps Staff as the
Inspector General and was a member of the Ross Volunteers for 2 years. He
retired this year from the Ameritas/Acacia Companies as an investment
advisor/financial planner. He lives at
Charles H. Robison- was a member of the Ross
Volunteers, Singing Cadets and the 2nd Wing Commander. He retired
from the USAF as LTC and retired from Raytheon after his second career. He and

Donald L. Giles- Don was a member of Sqd 4 while at
A&M. He is retired but was the founder, chairman, CEO of Quest Energy
Co. He has 3 sons: Dr. Douglas L. Giles
’83, Robert H. Giles ’84 and Dr. David L. Giles, Esq.
William O. Kelly- Member of Sqd 15. Widower,
James M. McPhail – A Co Transportation and then
Walton Hall. Still goes hunting & fishing with JA (Mick) kromer ’59
who was his fish ole lady. Says Mick is retired from incinerator manufacturing
business in
Carl F. Raba Jr. Served in Army Corps of Engineers
before becoming chairman of Raba-Kistner Consultants Inc. where he has been
chairman and CEO since 1980. He has been active in A&M organizations and
other groups in the
James L. Taylor (JL) member of A Comp while in
school. He and wife Barbara have been married over 45 yrs and have 2 sons
’84 and 2 daughter-in-laws ’84 and 4 grandchildren. JL retired from
FMC in Jan 2001and became a consultant for them. He began consulting for FMC Ag
Products and AgriVert and cotton PGR in 2004.
John D. Windham- member of A Comp after he and
Barbara were married on campus in 1957.
They have 3 sons and 2 granddaughters. John sold Windham Home
Furnishings in 1996 to Ivan Smith Furniture and now consults for them. He says
he worked for “Old Army” Loupot for 2 yrs and Momma & Papa Lou
was the nicest people he ever knew.

members met for lunch in

James W. Best was in Ord and on
the staff his senior year. He retired Colonel and currently lives in

wife Jeanne are enjoying the retirement life at 6009 Augusta Circle, College
Station, TX 77845.Earl, Lefty as he was known then, was Commander of the 4th
Bn (pre Vets, “A” athletics and “B” athletics). After
21 years with Union Carbide, enjoying jobs from plant engineer to business
management, Earl finished his career as President and CEO of LeTourneau. They
make steel; build very large mining equipment and offshore drilling rigs. Earl
enjoys playing golf with his friends at Pebble Creek CC and doing some
consulting work. Jeanne remains very active in volunteer work as well as being
a speaker and speaker trainer for Stonecroft Ministries. They have 3 daughters;
Sheryl (Aggie) lives in NYC (Price Waterhouse); Michelle (mother of the 3
grandchildren) lives in
Bob Blackstone and wife Wanda live at 413 Saddleback,
Robert McKechnie and wife Dorothy have moved to
Charles W. Voigt lives at
Ray L. Burns and wife Marsha of 46 yrs live at
Jerrell N. Henson spent 21 yrs as a Navy aviator and then
transitioned to a senior civilian billet managing the
John A. Evans and wife Nancy have been married 42 yrs and live at
Dr. Jay Roland wife Bettye reside at
George W. Stephens retired from his second career on June 30, 2000 as
Asst. Chief of Police, Capitol Police,
